To support and enhance the wilderness experience of the Allagash Wilderness Waterway. Then, work to achieve a balance between the natural environment, cultural values and historical characteristics that is compatible with the wilderness experience.
To support and defend the “WILD” classification of the Allagash Wilderness Waterway as a Nationally Protected, “WILD AND SCENIC” River.
To advocate for the preservation of the wild character and preservation of existing cultural values and to insure that the Allagash Wilderness Waterway is managed with minimum physical development and continues to provide an opportunity for dispersed primitive recreation, consistent with its legal mandates.
To support and assist the State
of Maine in matters consistent with the legal mandates for preservation
of the Allagash Wilderness Waterway.
To PRESERVE, CONSERVE and PROTECT the Allagash Wilderness
Waterway and declare and defend its preservation “IN PERPETUITY” for
the people of Maine.
